Itinerary Sumatera Overland Tour Package
Day 01: Arrival at Kuala Namu Airport – Hotel
Upon arrival at Kuala Namu International airport, you will be greet by SWI Team and transfer to the hotel. You may take a rest at the hotel after long journey or you can also take a walk to nearest places.
Day 02: Medan – Bukit Lawang
After breakfast at the hotel, city tour Medan by visiting Maimun Palace which was a Sultan Deli Palace built in 1888, Medan Great Mosque built by The Sultanate of Deli, Sultan Al Rasyid Perkasa Alamsyah Ma’mum, visit Chinese Temple and transfer to Bukit Lawang. Arrive in Bahorok in Bukit Lawang, Check-in hotel and free program.
Day 03: Bukit Lawang Orangutan & Sumatra Wildlife Jungle Trekking
After breakfast, start trekking into the jungle where you can see the beautiful virgin rainforest that will make you really close to the nature. You will also walking crossing through the river by canoe and walk into the jungle. Along the way in the jungle, you will have the opportunity to meet Sumatra wildlife animals such as orangutan, long-tail macaque, gibbon, Thomas leaf monkey, beautiful birds and colorful butterflies. Bukit Lawang is one of the entrance to Leuser National Park where the sanctuary Sumatran Orangutans. Our local guide will accompany you to observe the Sumatra wildlife. The trekking will take about 3-4 hours. Return back to the hotel and free program.
Day 04: Bukit Lawang – Berastagi
After breakfast, head out to Berastagi passing through exciting route, mountain views, alluring Sembahe river and passing Sibolangit till you arrive in Berastagi which is a city in Karo Hildland with cool air and popular as the fruit, vegetable and flower plantation areas. Upon arrival in Berastagi, tour to Lumbini Park with its replica of Swedagon Pagoda, Gundaling Hill with fascinating view of Sibayak and Sinabung Volcanoes. Visit Berastagi fruit market, check in hotel and free program.
Day 05: Berastagi – Samosir Tour
After breakfast, you will start a journey to Samosir Island where you can see Batak Culture. Along the way you will see the picturesque plantations areas, hills and wonderful sceneries. Visit majestic Sipiso-piso waterfall which is one of the highest waterfall in Indonesia, visit Simarjarunjung Hill to enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Toba before continue the trip to Parapat. Upon arrival in Parapat, transfer by ferry to Samosir Island. Arrive at Samosir, tour to Tomok which is a Batak Toba traditional village where you can see historical places, culture and traditional dance performance. Check-in hotel and free program.
Day 06: Samosir – Sipirok
After breakfast, on this sixth day of Sumatra overland tour, the journey will head to Sipirok. Start by transfer by ferry to Parapat and continue the trip to Sipirok passing the Balige City. Along the way, you will stop at several interesting places such as Balige Sigurgur, Sipoholon hotspring, plantation areas of pineapples, clove and coffee. Proceed the journey to Sipirok while on the way you can see dazzling mountain range of Bukit Barisan view and beautiful landscapes. Arrive at Sipirok, check-in hotel and free program.
Day 07: Sipirok, North Sumatra – Bukittinggi, West Sumatra
After breakfast at the hotel, driving all the way to Bukittinggi in West Sumatra. On this journey, you will enjoy magnificent sceneries of mountains view, hills, rivers, traditional village, valleys, rice fields, forests and waterfall. The first place to stop for enjoying the view is Sijornih waterfall with charming view, Sihepeng Botanical Garden which is a complete spices garden and Rimba Panti Nature Reserve. Continue towards Bonjol passing Equator line monument. Last stop before continuing the trip to Bukittinggi at Palupuh Rafflesia Sanctuary which is the rare giant flower of Rafflesia Arnoldi, the largest flower species. (the blooming of the flower is unpredicted). Upon arrival in Bukittinggi, check in hotel and free program.
Day 08: Bukittinggi – Minangkabau Tour
Breakfast at the hotel, depart from the hotel passing Payakumbuh and visit Harau Valley where you can see beautiful panoramic view of towering granite cliff and vast rice fields. Continue the journey to Batu Sangkar and stop at Tabek Patah and Rao-rao village to see amazing traditional Minangkabau houses in the village. Visit Pagaruyung Palace to see the history of Minangkabau Kingdom and admire the architectures and cultural heritage. Return to Bukittinggi passing the Singkarak Lake. Free program.
Day 09: Bukittinggi – Padang Tour
After breakfast, check out hotel. The first place to visit on ninth day of Sumatra overland tour is Lawang Park located on a hill with superb view overlooking to Maninjau Lake, before you reach the location, you will see fantastic view and descending the remarkable 44 curved winding road. Visit Sianok Canyon with a great panoramic view and Japanese underground tunnel and bunker build during World War II. Visit fort de Cock where you can see impressive view of surrounding areas. Continue the trip to Large Clock monument and head to Padang via Padang Panjang, stop at Pandai Sikek village to traditional weaving and wood carving, Lembah Anai waterfall and enjoy sunset view at Padang Beach. check in hotel and free program.
Day 10: Padang – Departure
Breakfast at the hotel, check-out the hotel and visit Siti Nurbaya Bridge and seeing the Old City of Padang. Transfer to the airport.
